Bradford, OH -
"The Sniper" Wayne Chinn finished out his 2007 season at the Eldora Speedway this past Saturday night posting his 3rd consecutive top ten finish at Tony Stewart's legendary half mile.
With seventy nine cars on hand for the UMP Fall Nationals, a good qualifying lap would be vital. "The Sniper" did just that and fired off a 16.559, a lap good enough to ensure him a front row starting sport for his heat race. As the green flag waved, the Erwin Dealership/C.J Rayburn/PBM Performance/Sugar Creek Packaging/AWP of Ohio/JB Enterprises/Hyatt Web Designs/Dodge/Rayburn would dart to the front, pulling off to a large advantage over the rest of the field. As the race came to it's conclusion, Chinn had amassed a full straightaway lead, finishing a half lap ahead of his closest competitor. As the forty lap, $10,000 to win feature event pulled to the surface, Chinn would line up in the fifth position. Early in the event the car's handling was slightly off, causing "The Sniper" to have to wrestle the car around the high bank oval. Despite fighting a less than perfect handling car, a right rear tire that was losing air pressure, and some of the nations fastest drivers, "The Sniper" Wayne Chinn was still able to bring home an impressive top ten finish. In the final three events of the season at the Rossburg, Ohio track, Wayne Chinn averaged a seventh place finish.
This coming weekend Chinn Motorsports will be back in action with the Independent Racing Series. The tour will head to Stewart, Ohio to the Skyline Speedway for a season ending $5,000 to win event. "The Sniper" Wayne Chinn currently rides third in seasonal points, striking distance behind leader Rick Aukland. Wayne Chinn has also wrapped up the Rookie of the year title going into this event.
