MRP - Eldora - Cannonball up next for "The Sniper"

Bradford, OH - A busy Labor Day weekend is ahead for Chinn Motorsports as three tracks and races face "The Sniper" Wayne Chinn. The Erwin Dealership/Sugar Creek Packaging/AWP of Ohio/JB Enterprises/Hyatt Web Designs/Dodge will be in action at Moler Raceway Park in Mt. Orab, Ohio on Saturday. Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Sunday and Cannonball Speedway for Independent Racing Series sanctioned event on Monday.

This past weekend Wayne stepped behind the wheel of a Rayburn Chassis for the first time in over three years at the Moler Raceway Park. "The Sniper" showed no rust in his return to the Indiana based chassis as he won his heat race by over a straightaway after starting the race in the final position. This would give Chinn a second row starting spot in the twenty five lap feature event. After moving to second early in the race, Chinn would bide his time looking to pass race leader "Insane" Duane Chamberlain. With seven laps remaining Chinn would see his opening and make the pass for the lead, only to have the yellow flag wave, thus returning him to the second spot. On the restart Chamberlain would block the high groove Wayne had passed him on the lap before, pinching Chinn into the turn four wall. With five laps remaining Chinn got a monster run off turn two and passed Chamberlain down the backstretch. As the move was being completed Chamberlain turned right and Chinn's Rayburn blasted off into the air like a rocket. When all was said and done "The Sniper's" mount was stopped on the roof of Chamberlains car and a red flag was shown to pull the two cars apart. Due being apart of the incident, and stopping on the track, Chinn would restart from the tail of the field with just five laps to go. "The Sniper" would sneak past several cars in the final laps and was clearly the fastest car on the track, but time would run out and Chinn Motorsports would settle with a fifth place finish.

The team was not only impressed with the handling of the Rayburn Chassis, but also the durability to withstand such a hit and still be contending for the win after being airborne and on top of another car.

Chinn was very happy with the car and had planned on running KC-Raceway's World of Outlaws Late Model Series but a late afternoon shower cancelled the event. After calling a few tracks to see what their status was, the Erwin Dealership/Sugar Creek Packaging/AWP of Ohio/JB Enterprises/Hyatt Web Designs/Dodge traveled down US 23 to Portsmouth Raceway Park, only to sit in the pits long enough to unload before that race was cancelled as well. "The Sniper" Wayne Chinn has stated he will return to PRP on September 15th for the conclusion of this event.

Saturday night the team will try and continue its streak of three top five finishes in a row at Moler Raceway Park. The race will pay $1,500 to the winner and will be ran in conjunction with the Bear Wieck Memorial race.

Chinn Motorsports home track will be the designation on Sunday with the annual Johnny Appleseed event paying $2,000 to the winner. This will also serve as a chance to shake down the car and prepare for next weekends World 100.

Monday, "The Sniper" will return to Independent Racing Series action at the recently reopened Cannonball Speedway. Wayne currently leads the Rookie of the year standings on the tour and is still sitting in third position overall in the seasonal points championship.

"The Sniper" will have temporary tattoos and buttons available for the kids. And shirts, hats, decals and cup coolers will be on sale at the hauler for the big kids. You can also purchase all these items and more on Wayne Chinn's official website at www.waynechinn1.com
