Indiana Speedweek awaits "The Sniper"

Bradford, OH - “The Sniper” Chinn was in a out right shoot out with the competition this past weekend, and the Hilltop Speedway and IRS series would be his firing range. Two weeks ago the Bradford, Ohio hot shoe opened fire on his heat race starting field, by winning his qualifying race by over a straight-away. Wayne would line up 8th on the grid for the IRS Deadline 50, the first ever race for the newly formed Independent Racing Series. Disaster would strike as “Slow-ride” David Scott would get sideways on lap two and collect Wayne, sending the Erwin Dealership/AWP of Ohio/Rocket to the 22nd place. Chinn would reload and “snipe” off nine cars in two laps on the restart. At the halfway point Wayne would ride in the 5th position waging a war with Doug “The Kid” Drown. After several laps of chaotic, clean racing, “The Sniper” would set his crosshairs towards the lead pack of Dave Hess, “General” George Lee, and Mike Balzano. After the valiant effort to come back through the field the tires had faded some and Wayne would settle for a 5th place finish.

Saturday night Chinn Motorsports returned to Florence Speedway for another night of action. Wayne started on the pole of the second heat race, and after a questionable start by the second place car, Wayne would be behind the eight ball the rest of the race, and finish second. The feature wasn't better as Wayne stepped to the high side early in the event, and found no grip and spun. Starting 24th on the restart Wayne made contact with another car and got a flat tire. “The Sniper” was credited with 20th position in the feature event.

This weekend, “The Sniper” Wayne Chinn looks to change his fortunes from Saturday night with a full week of racing activity. Chinn Motorsports has decided to follow the Indiana Speedweek presented by NALMS. The tour starts at Twin Cities Raceway Park on Wednesday. On Thursday “The Sniper” will return to a track he had once won on, Lawrenceburg Speedway. Friday the team will head to Bloomington Speedway. And the tour will end at Brownstown Speedway.
