Bradford, OH - Friday night "The Sniper" Wayne Chinn made his way to Millersburg, Ohio, the home of Hilltop Speedway for the inaugural Independent Racing Series Event, 49 cars were on hand for the $5,000 to win prize. With a great qualifying lap, Wayne would start on the pole for his heat race and proceed to dominate, winning by over a straight away. The Erwin Dealership/AWP of Ohio/Rocket was set to roll away from the 7th position in the 50 lap feature event, when the skies opened up and the night was cancelled on account of rain. Chinn Motorsports will return this coming Friday night, to Hilltop Speedway for the completion of this event.
Florence Speedway, located in Union, Kentucky awaited Chinn Motorsports on Saturday night. Twenty-four late models were on hand and "The Sniper" made his presence known early in the evening. The Bradford, Ohio driver charged from the fourth position to a second place finish in the qualifying heat race, assuring himself of a good starting position in the feature event. During the feature, Wayne would charge from the fifth starting spot to third and was closing on the leaders as the checkered flag flew on the event. With his consistency so far in 2007 at Florence Speedway, "The Sniper" Wayne Chinn now sits third in the late model season point standings.
Chinn Motorsports returns to action this weekend with Hilltop Speedway and Florence Speedway highlighting the schedule. The Independent Racing Series will roll back into Jeff Norris' Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg, Ohio on Friday May 4th, 2007 with the season opener paying $5,000 to win for the IRS late model series during the IRS Deadline 50. The race was originally scheduled for April 13th but has been postponed due to inclement weather twice. Florence Speedway will be holding a regular show paying $1,200 to win.
