"The Sniper" Rallies at Volusia Raceway Park

Bradford, OH - After being plagued with bad luck throughout East Bay Raceway Park 's Winternationals, Wayne Chinn found much better luck Monday night at Volusia Raceway Park.

With over 90 cars in the pit area for Monday night's DIRTcar Nationals Opener for UMP DIRTcar Racing Late Models, Wayne started out the night by qualifying 3rd in his group during the group qualifying sessions.

"The Sniper" would continue the evening by finishing 2nd in his heat race, and picking up his first transfer to a feature event during the 2007 season. Wayne stayed out of trouble in the A-Main and cruised to a 20th place finish in an event that was won by Bobby Labonte Motorsports driver, Earl Pearson Jr.

"We have been fighting a push since we got to Florida " commented the Bradford, Ohio native. "This has been a learning experience and I feel each day we learn something new and get a little faster. I am overwhelmed by the amount of fans that have stopped by the hauler and made my first trip to the Winternationals so enjoyable. I hope I can make all my fans and sponsors proud by finishing out this week with some more great finishes."

Wayne Chinn's 2007 Winternational's tour continues tonight at Volusia Speedway Park . Wednesday nights feature at the Barberville, Florida speed plant will pay $5,000 to win. Gates open at 5pm , qualifying at 6pm and racing will start sometime around 7:30.
