"The Sniper" looks to rebound after Memorial Day weekend |
Bradford, OH - Chinn Motorsports ventured to Union County Speedway on Friday evening for their opening event of the season. “The Sniper” Wayne Chinn piloted his CT525 engine to a second place finish in his qualifying heat race, which set him up to start on the pole for the feature event. At the drop of the green Chinn shot in to the lead over Greg Johnson and held the point for the first couple laps. A mechanical issue on the Erwin Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Troy Ohio / Sugar Creek Packing /American Racer Tires #1 C.J. Rayburn Race Car sent Chinn to the pits, ending his night. |

On Saturday the team headed to Portsmouth Raceway Park for the $3,000 to win special event. “The Sniper” finished fourth in his qualifying heat race, putting him in the eighth starting position for the 35 lap main event. Once the race was underway, Chinn used the momentum on the high side of the race track to make his way in to the top five, running as high as fourth at one point. A flat right rear tire in the closing laps slowed Chinn’s efforts as he held on for a ninth place finish.
