Misfortune strikes "The Sniper" at Spring 50

Bradford, OH - Misfortune struck "The Sniper" Saturday night at Florence Speedway. After qualifying 8th against some of the regions toughest competitors and proceeding to dominate his qualifying heat race, his luck would soon change in the 34th Annual Spring 50. Starting up front, and in position to win, "The Sniper" Wayne Chinn blew an engine, ending his weekend, thus erasing all hopes for a good finish.

The Erwin Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Troy Ohio/Sugar Creek Packaging/American Racer Tires C.J. Rayburn Race Car was an absolute rocket ship in the heat race, pulling out to a several car length advantage over the field, and was on a rail, clicking off some of the fastest laps of the night, on it's way to victory. During the feature, "The Sniper" was running well, and in position to record a top five effort, when the car slowed on lap twenty-six. The crew quickly discovered the issue, and it was indeed motor failure, as the team dejectedly loaded the car.

At the time of this press release, plans are in the air for this coming weekend. The team is frantically working, trying to get things back in order in time to race.
